Liberal attorneys are playing the "victim card" in defending alien detainees regarding a violent incident at an immigration detention center last Friday, May 1st. However, federal immigration authorities and the Bristol County Sheriff's office tell a different, more realistic story.
The detainees' lawyers claimed their clients, the detainees, refused testing for fear of exposure to the virus. It's ironic that the detainees fear COVID-19, but refused to get tested.
Furthermore, the attorneys representing ICE detainees told CNN the corrections officers in the Massachusetts facility attacked the illegal aliens in retaliation for a class action suit against ICE and detention center.
The leftist/liberal Washington Post has an opinion piece written by Shalyn Fluharty, director of the pro-open borders Dilley Pro Bono Project, which represents women and children seeking asylum. Fluharty advocates the release of illegal aliens who are detained and seeking asylum in the U.S., but why not release them back into Mexico or their home counties?
The South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, TX is designed to house “families” that are awaiting asylum hearings. However, Fluharty and other open-borders advocates are demanding the release of the detainees over the COVID-19 health concerns.
As the COVID-19 pandemic takes its toll on the U.S. economy and put millions of American workers out of work, the Government is recruiting foreign workers into the country. That's incredible and outrageous.
According to Fox News host Tucker Carlson, the Department of Homeland Security has released 20,000 H-2B visas for seasonal workers to take landscaping, food processing, and tourism jobs. There are another 15,000 "bonus visas" that are scheduled to be released in May 2020.
Foreign labor has historically competed with domestic workers in America's free-market economy. However, it is outrageous and insane in a time when American workers are being let go as businesses shut. I worked on a study in for the old Immigration & Naturalization Service in 1985 to see how American workers could be enticed to take jobs illegal aliens usually did (agriculture and service industries).
While Americans are going through various stages of panic, concern, and acceptance of the COVID-19, the Mexican government has been in a near state of denial in advising its citizens. When the COVID-19 epidemic hits Mexico’s general population hard (and it will), there will probably be a panic that will drive people across the border into the U.S., mostly illegally. America needs to prepare now.
Mexican states like the northern state of Chihuahua, are currently quarantining people who are removed from the U.S. however, Mexico is not isolating its citizens. The Mexican government is also providing little preventive information to the citizens.
The Center for Immigration Studies is reporting that despite strong measures by the Trump Administration to limit the virus outbreak inside the United States, over 3000 refugees have been resettled in American communities. The resettlements happened between January 29, 2020 (the day the President’s Coronavirus Task Force to lead the U.S. government response to the coronavirus was formed), and March 18, 2020 (the deadline for this report). These are legal refugees, in addition to the thousands of illegal aliens who are detained in Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) centers or jails.
