The recent incidents of media bias including the BuzzFeed false report about Trump and the Covington Catholic school fake news reports about racist students are examples of national media bias. However, there are many examples of local media bias like the article about the Dreamers written by Lomi Kriel that appears in today, Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019 on the front page of the liberal San Antonio Express-News.
Lomi Kriel is the immigration reporter at the Houston Chronicle who owns and manages the SA Express. She is credited with being the first reporter to uncover the Trump administration’s separation of “migrant families” at the border in November 2017. Somehow she misses the point that these illegal alien families would not be separated if they didn’t enter the U.S. illegally, nor questions how many are "real" families.
In her article today, Kriel interviews five liberal pro-illegal alien persons and how Trump is not doing anything to help DACA recipients. She has comments from Sanaa Abrar, director for United We Dream, Houston DACA recipient Jesús Contreras, director of government relations for the American Immigration Lawyers Association Greg Chen, deputy political director at the American Civil Liberties Union Lorella Praeli, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.
On the other hand, Kriel has two brief comments from conservatives. She quotes Ann Coulter, claiming Coulter is “influential among Trump’s base.” She also has comments from Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
Kriel ignores that Trump has proposed twice to help DACA recipients, including the current proposal to resolve the government shutdown and build the border wall. She conveniently ignores that Democrats are balking and that liberal activists are demanding open borders and that the abolishment of ICE.
It would be good if Kriel and all other news reporters stopped being agents of the Democratic Party and ceased promoting their liberal agenda. It would also be good if there were a "fair" media at local levels.
CNN’s Jim Acosta, a liberal posing as a journalist who is one President Trump worst critics, tried to undermine the need for a border wall but his report backfired. However, he unintentionally proved that walls work.
Acosta toured a section of the U.S./Mexico border that has a wall. He stood at the wall and reported, “Here are some of the steel slats that the president’s been talking about. But as we’re walking along here, we’re not seeing any kind of imminent danger.”
In other words, a wall on the border works! There is no danger or illegal immigration because there is a wall, a barrier, a strong fence, whatever.
The liberal media continuous expose themselves as agents and allies of the Democrat leftist agenda. They seek to promote their ideas and values through deceit and confusion, such as pushing the narrative that a border wall is racist and unnecessary.
The truth always comes out in end, no matter how hard anyone tries to hide it or stop it. Lies, by politicians or the media, are just a temporary delay to the inevitable.
Sanctuary city and open border policies are helping develop an international crime network that is endangering American citizens.
In 1981, I worked with the Reagan Administration and Justice Dept. to identify and arrest the Marielito Cubans who had been released from Cuban prisons by Fidel Castro in 1979 and sent to the U.S. These Cuban criminals connected with Columbian gangs to create the drug crime wave of the 1980s in south Florida and the East Coast.
This Mariel Cuban project led to another one to analyze the developing connections between illegal alien criminals and ethnic Latino street gangs, mostly in Southern California. While the international crime on the West Coast crime was not as organized as on the East Coast, it was developing.
We keep hearing from Democrats and the liberal Media that the figures on illegal immigration are exaggerated or overblown for political purposes. If that's true, then please tell me how many ILLEGAL aliens are a tolerable number for you?
Democrats and the liberal Media seem to talk like illegal immigration is not a big deal. They say we must not overreact to “immigration,” but conveniently ignore the word ILLEGAL.
So how much “illegal” immigration is tolerable? How much of any ILLEGAL behavior if excusable to Democrats and the Media? How much crime, in general, is acceptable?
In April 2017, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced a bill calling for the use of $14 billion seized from cartel drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman to be used to pay for the Border Wall, but it went nowhere. Perhaps it’s time for Congress to reconsider the bill.
Senator Cruz said fourteen billion dollars would go a long way toward building a wall to keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border. "Ensuring the safety and security of Texans is one of my top priorities,” he said.
Twenty months later, President Trump is arguing with the Democrats who will soon control the House over funding for the Border Wall. Congress should get creative and reconsider and pass Cruz’ bill.
